I purchased my IN 250 on Sat Dec 20th. It ran very quiet for the first few days and then the pump started vibrating. I took the impeller shaft out and found that it was starting to wear unevenly on one end, therefor making it unbalanced and causing the vibration. Anyone else ever heard of this happening?

i think one other person had a warped impellar, were ever you purchased yours from i would contact them cause there is a warranty on these. Premium aquatics sent another guy a new impellar.

I am sure that the impeller thing is just a fluke. They have probably sold a ton of these already so a couple of bad in a bunch isn't unheard of. I spoke to the people at PA and they said my skimmer was being readied to ship today. I can't wait to put this on my tank...It's been waiting for a real skimmer like this.

Now with this skimmer i pulled out 3 2liters full of crud and now skimmate is getting lighter like its actually keeping up and getting tank water clean cause now cup of crud looking like tea now and skimmer has been kept clean.

if you turn your output up so its out of water a little bit you will see the bubble up the neck get small and you will have a stronger more stable head of foam. i'll post a pic below

No sorry. Works in 6" - 8" of water, but best in 7". (for the IN100).

Mine was also shipped today! It should be here by Friday. I'm still in the process of doing my initial set up. Quick question. When i build my sump i should make the baffle for the first compartment 7"?

I am assuming to keep the water level for the skimmer at its optimum 7" then yes. If not I hear d it will not work as good...

Mine shipped today. That was fast with all the other orders also. Why does the sump water level have to be 7 inches? Can't you adjust the height of the riser tube. Does the pump pull from the bottom of the unit? I can slow the flow going to my UV light and this will make the water rise higher in the sump. My usual water level is about 5 inches

all skimmers have there preferred height 5" will work just 6" 7" being better yes the riser does help I would try to get at least 6" I think you will notice a difference. again this would be true of any skimmer. also I will probably try a gate valve on mine.

this skimmer riser tube is actually a wedge pipe you turn the tube to open and close the output of water coming out of skimmer. Not sure of official depth of each model might have to drop in on sponsor forums and ask guys at premium aquatics.

If you notice your pump starting to vibrate more than usual, check the impeller shaft. My impeller must not have been balanced and it started to wear away the shaft more on one end, which of course caused a big vibration. I think if I would have left it go long enough it probably would have eventually broke. I talked to Jeremy at PA and he said he would set me up with a new impeller and shaft so hopefully problem solved.
