I just got them set up and i used Rodney's base map to start out with and made little adjustments from there and i can now say i have never EVER been happier with lights for my tank. Granted i have yet to put anything in the tank, but from the very beginning i can tell these lights are just different!

Clowin Around, you've got a nice tank! As Allen said, the Mitras nicely complements your setup.

You can definitely get away with using two over the 48 and still get results. I would still use three to get a more even coverage across the tank this will give very little PAR drop off between the lamps

The tank is pretty big in person too, a little bigger then i was expecting, lol

Now that i look at the pictures they do look much higher to me too but i just measured again and they are 8 inches off the water and 7 from the top of the glass.

Those pictures are of the Mitras at roughly 40% power, these were taken prior to me creating my own program based from Rodney's.........he has a GREAT program, just changed a few things around here and there and added a storm once a week for kicks! lol

As many of you are aware I am doing a tank build thread here
http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2266307

So with one of my old corals that just came out of storage from a dealers that was holding it I thought I would do a fun GHL Mitras LED coral test!

Photo uploaded is of a very sorry for itself looking chunk of what used to be green with purple edges plating Montipora. This is what is left from my huge colony. As you can see its not very colourful, yes it has some purple showing through just about, and yes the water is slightly cloudy thanks to Prodibio kicking up a nice bio bloom while the tank matures. But I think we all can agree my camera work does not get good enough for photoshop.

So lets wait a few weeks and see what colour this goes under GHL Mitras LED Place your bets please
