First, do not add any other fish as the dwarf lion will try or succeed in eating them. The tank is not really large enough for any other fish that would be safe.

Ok hello I am back with another set of questions as I continue to build and establish my small chunk of ocean.

Tank is:
180 Gallon (6x2x2)
3 Metal Halides
2 VHO's
250lbs live rock (Fiji)
Wet dry filter converted sump with live rock and green chaeto

Any other additions that would go with this group or possibly better in place than others?

Thanks again. This is my fav thread on the site.

How about:

3- Borbonius Anthias
3 Lyretail Anthias
1-Yellow Tang
1 Niger Trigger
1- Percula
1- Black Clown
2- Yellow Watchmen Gobies
3- Pajama Cardinals
1- Neon Cleaner Goby
1- Mystery Wrasse
1- Dwarf Flame Angel

How about:

3- Borbonius Anthias I have never kept these so cannot comment
3 Lyretail Anthias
1-Yellow Tang
1 Niger Trigger I don't recommend a trigger in this sized tank
1- Percula
1- Black Clown
2- Yellow Watchmen Gobies
3- Pajama Cardinals
1- Neon Cleaner Goby
1- Mystery Wrasse
1- Dwarf Flame Angel
My impression is that this tank will look "crowded" but I am simply not fond of a tank that is too busy.

^Yeah I guess I kind of wanted a few groups of shoaling fish, but rather than having three groups I will probably delete all but one. The Pajama Cardinal is in my tank alone and was kind of a rescue, so I considered keeping him and getting him some friends. He is kind of a weird loaner fish. I am mostly hoping that the Borbonius work out well because they would be as much of a group as I would need. Or maybe just one borbonius and a group of lyretails if they get along ok.

What temperature do you plan to keep your Borbonius? I vaguely recall they prefer cooler temperature? If you are looking at anthias, you might consider carberryi.

From what I understand, the Borbonius function well in the mid 70's. High 70's are not lethal, but not ideal.

Hey . My tank is just about cycled and i am beginning to look at fishies . Its a 75 with a Fluval 405 filter, and soon a UV sterilizer, 30 lbs of dry. i am looking at

1 saddle back butterfly
1 double saddle
1 yellow tang
2 dragonets
1 Foxface rabbitfish
1 PBT (will give to a friend with 200 gal when exceeding 8")
and a pair of True perluca clowns

Thanks

Yes, that is consistent with my recollection. I personally keep tanks around 75-76 and I think I passed because of their preference for lower temperature.

2 dragonets First of all, they MUST be a M+F pair, secondly, your tank size is very marginal for two, and barely ok for one.
1 Foxface rabbitfish
1 PBT (will give to a friend with 200 gal when exceeding 8") I cannot recommend this fish in this sized tank especially with two other grazers. And I do not believe in rehoming fish. Sorry
and a pair of True perluca clowns

Thanks

Yes i understand the male and female pair. They are going to be the tank raised type so they eat frozen, could i do a augria butterfly instead of the PBT?

An Auriga is one of my favorite fish and it would do fine with the others. Be sure you adequate quarantine butterfly fish. I have strong reservations about ORA mandarins in terms of their viability. Are you prepared to spot feed them 4 times daily?

Since mandarins do not hunt for frozen competively and in any case could never compete with the rest of your fish, it means getting a long baster, loading it up with mysis and feed each mandarin 4 times daily by squirting food at them. Most people do not have the patience to do this.

Yellow tang last. Spot feeding the ORA mandarins is not a guarantee.

Well, you might do a search and read up on ORA mandarins. I would not do them again (I have wild caught ones but a much larger tank) because I have tried ORA mandarins and failed in a 350 gallon tank with lots of copepods.

Thanks steve Heres the order i am going to put them into the tank

the perlucas
foxface rabbitfish
then the butterflies
then the dragonets and tang

With those types of butterflies, how so called "mature" does the water need to be?

They are carnivores prmarily. However I would still like the tank to be four months old if possible. And quarantined.
