Run the full lights for 10-12 hours and the moonlights as long as it pleases you.

Yeah just in case I need to "get" some live sand from you know where... looks bad
Question I found someone who might be able to ship but there is a 2 day delay are zoos able to with stand this or what are the better corals to with stand this harassment?

Sweet,
They should be fine but if they seem to be inactive just move them to a higher spot in the tank. Hi Mike To Reef Central I'd give it at least another two weeks before you even think about stocking.

To Reef Central Good to see you are waiting patiently for the cycling to occur naturally. Are you keeping track of your ammonia and nitrate levels. Probably at the end of the third or 4th week for sure you should be ready to consider adding a clean up crew.

Hello I'm new to this forum,
I kept a 90 gallon reef tank for about six years in my old apartment. I have a house now and just need to decide where to put a tank. I will be reading allot while I'm figuring out where to put a new tank and just how big of one I can get away with. I guess when I get some money together i will be running Ideas through you guys. Looks like lots of good stuff going on in these threads. |

I keep flip flopping on Ideas for tank sizes and shapes.
so far I have thought of 6x4x3 or a little more realistically 4x4x2 the other thought is to do a scaled down version of David Saxby's maybe cut the over all dimensions in half. I will let everyone know for sure and do a build thread when I get it all sorted out. |

Hello fellow addicts.
My name is deathdealer. I am a saltwater aquarium addict. (you say, Hello deathdealer) I have been an addict for 1.5 yrs. Last week was a good week. I resisted the urge to use. I am making progress and appreciate your support. See you next week. |

Hi Death & Eklipz
To Reef Central Monkey, I'd tend to stay away from a 3' tank, they tend to be hard to light. It takes a lot of MH for a deep tank if you want high light corals and the heat from all that light means a chiller is usually needed. That all adds up to big $$$.

I checked my regal tank ("Dori") 3 days ago and it had ich, since it was eating fine I decided to see if her immune system would fight it. Today I noticed the ich is going away so I did a 50% water change should I do another? I don't have a QT set up there is 4 other fish in the same tank

Hello Forum
Hello, my name is Tom from the great state of Michigan; don't laugh some of us still think it's great. Long time reader but I've never posted...
I've been a long time Fish keeper; I started very young but lost parental support (funds) do to a unfortunate 29 Gallon spill in a second story home. After college I got back in raising Cichlids and selling their offspring to support my aquatic habit. Then moved on to Fresh Water planted tank fish keeping, which I currently have a 55 ga running for about 5 years now. Then started my first Salt tank, a 12 Ga nano, currently been running 3 years with no problems thus far. This is tank is currently home to: (1) Ocellaris Clownfish, (1) Royal Gramma Basslet, Button Polyps, Kenya Tree Corals, Blue Mushrooms, Green Star Polyps and Frowspawn¡K.Only thing I've lost in (3) years is a Peppermint Shrimp and I attribute that to the Gramma getting hungry when I was away and the Shrimp was milting I started a Thread on a 135 Gallon I'm starting...look forward to talking to everyone!! |
