What???? I can go to at least 4 different LFS here in Ft.Lauderdale and find multiple Blue Tangs well under 1 inch long any day of the week.
That is not rare or uncommon. After you learn a little about tangs, you may realize that. |

no, he was definitely serious that you should "do whatever you want" regardless of the effects on the fish or anything else.
Whatever makes YOU happy is all that matters, right? |

Less than an inch??? Yes, without doubt.
Right now, Big Als, Eco reef and Reef life have Blue tangs that are AT MOST 1 inch long. Thats just what i saw in the last week. Not remotely rare or uncommon to see them that size. The only reason they usually aren't bought, is that people who know anything about tangs or fish for that matter, steer clear of them until they are a little bigger and healthy |

So, how big should a tank be to be able to "hold" a tang? Are all tangs the same (with respect to the size of tank requirement)?
I've read the whole thread and, as entertaining as it was, nobody provided the information needed for a newby to learn from.

No problem. Keep taking advise from kids with 1 month experience, have never owned a tang and think a scarface background is cool

This is from a friend
Wish I could take credit for this but I can not ............
A friend wrote this and it will clear all of this up for you who did not follow this thread or just jumped on the band wagon! Why do the tang Police get so mad????????? They sure seem to take it personally, don't they? I think it has to do with the fact that people are so afraid to deviate from the narrowly accepted standards of this hobby. You come across as somewhat cavalier in your approach. It may be only your writing style that gives that impression, but once people get a notion.... In that first post about the tang in the 30 gallon it was clear that you realized after only a few posts that it was going to be a very short term thing, but people love to pound a point home. I think that's why this last one got out of hand, it started out well enough. From a purely psychological point of view, people slam you so they feel like they are "normal" and part of the group. Same reason people gossip about one another. I say so what. Keep on posting. Write it any way you like. Let those people stroke out over something so simple and then face afternoon traffic on the way home. Clearly you're smoking better sh't than they are |

I mean, come on. He posts in the New to hobby forum. He gets advice and only considers lame-brained advice from people who dont have enough experience to form an educated answer. He cant spell nor hold a conversation yet keeps responding to his haters with-in a minute or two of thier responses. Sorry, but pull the plug here lol
