Wow, I had never heard of doing that to discs. I have a bright orange one that I would love to have babies. I'm a weenie, I don't think I could do that. Maybe if I get another one I might try it and see what happens. BTW your tank is really awesome!!

cfarrow, I've never had a problem with the linkia harming anything
skeeter, the lights are 250 watt 12k reeflux HQI on an electronic ballast with pc actinics. So far I'm not a big fan of the reeflux bulbs. As for filtration, I used to have a nice refugium that got over run with hair algae, so it is not hooked up now, other than that I just have 2 turboflotor skimmers, I don't run any carbon or any other media, I don't even have any filter pads

drummerreef, here are some shots of the sailfin less than 2 years ago. I've never had a fish grow like this one
