ISmellLikeFish, you got some amazing deal on those yumas and candy canes!
My best coral buy would have been Kenya Tree (large tree on sale for $9.99). They spawn like how rabbits make baby bunnies. These have paid for my zoas, shrooms, and hammer coral. My Xenias used to pay for stuff but are riskier in my opinion because they can get unpredictable. Kenya Trees sting my arms like crazy whenever I rearrange stuff in the tank. But they pay for my corals without the risk of crashing one day. |

Freebies when I bought a 37 cube from a local reefer breaking down his system. I paid $100 for his cube with oak stand in excellent shape (great bargain I think). He was going over to freshwater so he asked if I wanted anything while there.
Freebies: 4 maxijets 1200s 2 rowaphos containers 2 filter socks with sock holder 1 red sea wavemaster pro 1 eheim 1048 pump |

~150 lbs live rock, several fish, several soft corals, two anemones, few boxes of old equipment, bucket of salt- Free.
Came as part of a package- 120 gallon tank, stand, lights, cannister filters included, for $500 off craigslist. Moved all the rock and live stuff to my 150, most of the equipment joined mine- Sold the tank and stand for $500. I find people who call them "fish tanks" tend to have less of an idea of what the stuff is really worth- Sometimes way overpriced, sometimes way underpriced, compared to people who call it an "aquarium". On craigslist, I find a 55 gallon "aquarium" to be around $50-75, while a 55 gallon "fish tank" is anywhere from $20 to $200. |
