Compared to other powerheads, like the maxi-jet at 12.00, yeah, that is pricey. For me that is. I paid 30.00 for my K1 and 45 for my K4.

Seagirl- Maybe someone should see if they will send out those pieces to modify our powerheads.

I think they should. Has anyone out there tried to get one? I know tons of people on this board have them. If not, who should we try and contact? They don't have a forum here do they?

K4

I received the two K4's I ordered a couple of weeks ago. Along with them I also ordered an Ocean Pulse Quadra Wavemaker timer. I already had two MJ1200 Mods running. While the K4's do not put out as much flow as the MJ1200 Mods, I am extremely happy with the combination of the MJ's and the K4's on this Wavemaker. I have them set so the MJ's are on three minutes and off three minutes, and the K4's are on six minutes and off six minutes. With an MJ and K4 at each end of the tank, with this timing sequence, the flow is incredible to say the least. I thought the MJ's were doing a pretty good job, but the addition of the K4's and the wavemaker showed me quite a few "dead" spots as the crud started getting stirred up .........

I read somewhere that the motors for the K's can burn out from being turned on/off so often using wavemakers. Have you noticed any problems using one? I have one but don't have my k's hooked up to it for this reason.

Seconded!!!

I have had a K4 since they first came out and have been happy with it. I would love to see what this adapter can do though. If anyone has info on how to get my hands on it please post.

For the OP there is a mod on these powerheads using a maximod propeller that people claim puts out over 2000 gals/hr. I haven't tried it but it seemed fairly simple if you have a maxijet on hand.

customanimalart-No, the adapters are not universal. I just picked up another #3 & #4 about a month ago and thought I would stick the adapter that came with the #3 on my old #4, didn't work when looking at the two adapters side by side there is a noticeable size diference.
