i dont understand i am stupid tonight lol.....i only h have 2 drains in my tank as of right now. can i use one for a drain with a ball valve and 2nd drain as the emergency valve? and the third i dont understand. if i drill another i will add a vinly tube and place it into thwater?

you would use a bead of silicone or superglue to glue it right above your normal operating water line in the calfo.

This way if the water level begins to raise, above normal operating height, the opening of the tubing will be submerged, and the 3rd standpipe will be brought under syphon until the water level drops below the tubing again.

ahh i gotcha! i understand it now but when i see it physically i would really understand the tube method but it makes sense!

ok i piped the tank and just set it up temporarly in my gargae. i got it working awesome!!very quite. but i have it hooked up with no overflow. i am going to get a black piece of acrylic cut and make an over flow. im gonna go down 6 inches and 4 inches out! i will post some pics.
its a 110 gallon tank 6' long. i drilled and installed 3x 1 1/4" bulkheads.
