Watching the fish play and the corals grow.

I stare at my tank at least an hour to two a day.

The Joy of bringing home a new fish you've always wanted , having it eat during its first feeding and it getting along with its tank mates with no problems!

First it is the set-up and build process. I like to incorporate all the new things I have learned, and to come up with a few new ideas. Customizing a system to your needs make this hobby a lot easier. Second would be the coral. Watching it grow and the intense colors amaze me. In an aggressive FOWLR tank it is by far the feedings. There is nothing like watching a triggerfish rip a crayfish to shreds, or groupers and lions swallowing meals whole. Generally though, it is the relaxation of laying on the couch and staring at the tank.

Right now, my list is...

Fish/Inverts
Corals
Equipment

I'm more into creating that perfect little ecosystem than fiddling with the technology behind it.

I like the research as well as everything else. Finding a new coral or fish to learn about and planning a system to incorporate it. Learning how everything in my little ecosystem works together is fun to me. It is amazing how much more life is in a marine tank versus fresh water. I like not just corals, not just fish, not just inverts, but how they all interact with each other. Clown fish are a blast to watch with their host. Crabs living in there corals, shrimp gobies with their shrimp. I never thought of this until now, but maybe I should make a tank with nothing but creatures that have symbolic relationships with others.

I grew up by the ocean, learned to scuba dive as a teenager (still dive but infrequently) but now live in Arizona, so my tank brings back fond memories and is the closest thing I can do short of going to the ocean

I'm a technology junkie if it blinks I want it, the better the equipment the easier my maintainence will be (So say I), my new up in coming 225 tank build will be my tech crown jewel. I am getting into SPS and I want this to be the next TOTM.

1. Equipment
2. Corals
3.Fish

I like the system. The idea that if I make my system a bit better it could be alot better. I guess that equates to the equipment. I also enjoy the science of it as well as the growth.

I like watching everything grow and change. The whole reef changes! The tank you have today will not be the same a year from now.
