First, this isn't the Nova Extreme Pro, which is a much better fixture with 6 lights and better reflectors, so your NEP club needs to recruit elsewhere. Second, I didn't fail at anything. Third, my experience is with the old Nova Extreme with one reflector. Fourth, cooling fans don't make a light, I hate to tell you. I'd take the TEK over this $200 Current any day of the week. Reflector quality plays a huge role in output. If you have tinfoil for reflectors, well, you have tinfoil for reflectors. Last edited by abulgin; 05/18/2009 at 08:07 PM. |

I had the 48 nova extreme PRO and kept everything just fine. Seriously, I had bubble tip split twice and grew a 1 inch orange monti cap to 5 inches in less than a year. Digi and acropora grew just fine with this fixture and all of them were about 1' from the surface.

Alright....the link i posted wasn't the one I bought. I was having a brain fart and couldn't remember where I bought it so I just looked for one like it. The one I have says it has individual reflectors and yes they do look like hte reflector has beeen bent to surround each bulb. Honstly I didn't know there was another way to create individual reflectors. The light I had before was a marineland single reflector with old bulbs and my anemone is huge and very happy.

I have experience with the Pro--through friends, family and other hobbyists. I have never used the Pro, but from what I have read and heard the TEK is a better fixture. I am not saying, nor do I believe, that you cannot grow SPS under the Pro. I know you can--that's why I said it was a much better fixture than the regular NE. It's ecent fixture--I jus think there are better ones out there for not much more.
