jcovercash, when you get everything going, you should report on your thoughts in your system, would be good for others considering the same options.
Once I get it up and running I will be sure to report back and let everyone know.

Yea, they charge $400 for a 24v/12v power head and think we should be greatful! They should be drawn and quartered, all the MP40W stock given away to us and forced into slave labor to make us 12v power heads at a normal $40-$75 cost AND the option to purchase the kit!!

How is their pump any different in cost to a controllable Tunze pump and controller? They are practically the same price.

No one is holding a gun to your head telling you that you have to buy one.... I never thought that I would buy one and I am very happy with mine, I haven't even got my tank up yet but during my FW testing I am very happy and will be getting another one tomorrow!!

jcovercash...

Just checking in to see how you like the mp40w. Have you tried it out yet?

Here's a vid of mine running in a standard aga 75 with the return pump off in wave mode. It's the only flow I have besides the return pump and it seems to work good for me.

mp40 video

Very nice. I am really liking the pump although I have only did some freshwater testing on an empty tank. I am either going to get another MP40w and run them on opposite ends in antisync reefcrest or get an mp20 and put it on the back wall on the opposite end of the tank from the 40 in reefcrest... not sure yet...
