I suppose for someone who has been doing it a while it is rather easy. For a beginner, like me or you, it may be a little more difficult. I have not yet dipped my feet into corals, but I do plan to very soon!

If it is indeed a singularia, I have heard they are one of the more toxic to other corals. Sorry to say, that's all I know.

Good job getting the pic in the post! That makes it much easier.
Nikkon (or is it Nostradamus?) could be correct with his crazy blindfolded ninja warrior WAG (although its Sinularia to make your google search easier). FWIW it could also be a Capnella, Lemnalia, or Nepthea. I can never tell those guys apart. Maybe someone else can tell. Anyway its commonly called a leather coral and slightly more specific (but not much) a tree coral. Care is pretty easy and it should be a good starter coral. Doesn't need a whole lot of light or target feeding and does like a fair amount of flow like many leather corals. Regarding toxicity I think its more or less in relation to SPS corals. Many leathers can inhibit stony coral growth (some more than others) but with good husbandry and running carbon I think its a bit overrated. I run a mixed reef with a few leathers and a bunch of sps with success. Good score on the hitchhiker.
