I've lost 2 carpenter wrasse through that same top I made, I had two put black screen over it, and lost some of my lighting, If your gonna make a top MAKE SURE the hole's are small. GOOD LUCK.

True, true. What size mesh were you using? I used 1/4" squares. I actually got to see it in action today. I lifted one up a little to feed the fish and one of my anthias went a little nuts, jumped, and hit the mesh! I was glad I had the top on. I think the only fish that could make it through the mesh would be my tailspot blenny, but it would be pretty hard for him to do it.

That's what I thought too, I guess they had to hit it just right. All,s it take's is once. My advice is FATTEN them up so they dont fit : Experience is the best teacher, I guess that SIZE does matter in this case.

So would be better to add the Paracheilinus first then add Cirrhilabrus a little after, like a week or so?

the only problem with eggcrate is it is a light difuser and will cut back on your lighting some

I had a yellow coris wrasse jump. Apparently my Pug dog found it first because I had to follow the stench to find it hidden in the couch cushions. That was a bummer...I really liked that fish.
