I bought my controller first and then the vortech. The MJ mod kits do provide plenty of flow on the cheap, but nothing like the random actions you get with the vortech. IMO, more flow can be easily haendled in the mean time with MJ mods but the controller helps put a safety valve on potential system meltdowns.....which would suck BAD were you to get unlucky. And eveyone gets unlucky....eventually.
