Mine colored up within a few week of being in my tank, I think it may be more of a stress indicator thing. Mine is the alpha fish in the tank, but you have a few more larger more aggressive tangs so it's likely not showing it's full colors (but it's still a beautiful healthy looking fish). Try holding a mirror up to the tank sometime and see what colors all your fish show. Most will become quite vibrant trying to chase the "intruder" away This can also help with inter species aggression since the fish will have a tendency to try to chase away fish of their own species and not worry about others.

yeah he is the smallest, i got him about six months ago, he was the last tang to be added. he was so tiny then, a brown dot lol
i used to tease my betta with a mirror..not sure if i can do it to the tangs though, their so prone to being skittish, Beemo would probably fall inlove with herself

I can hear her thinking "Who's THAT good lookin' fish?"

Mine avoided the mirror until they saw what was in it. Imagine a Tang an angel a blenny and a dottyback all sharing a 6" space trying to see in the mirror!

+1 for recovering fine.

I have a true perc and she shares the "being bossy" duties with the kole tang. However after she laid eggs the second time, she got into a fight with the kole and had a mark simliar to yours. It has healed fine.

I have the single kole tang in the 120. So size wise the two of them are the "biggest" fish.

What are you going to do with your "off" tang? We all have a black sheep in the family...Maybe you can switch the rock and give him a cave away from the clown.

I dunno, i think i just have to leave things be, and whatever happends, happends.
i cant be messing with the rocks, the tank is bare bottom and my rocks are right on the glass, no support nothing. i mean it can hold on its own, but if i pull one rock i will get an avalanche and risk cracking my glass, stressing corals etc.
maybe he will get the message and move to the other side, i have no clue why all the fish favor this side over the other side, very strange..
