I remember the first time my wife and i went into a petsmart to pick out our first coral (years ago) and she pointed at a HUGE bubble algae and said.... Wow ! look at that one ... hahaha..

she has since been..... educated.

o yea and the hitting the glass to make the fish move around more.

aww my fav one touching all over the glass *finger prints*

an always asking "can i feed them"

an im sure everyones fav putting their hands in the tank
everyone that looks at my tank knows better than to touch ANYTHING.... haha the key is to intimidate them with the nuclear looking equipment and dangerous looking things in the tank

MOST ppl that are new that come over are stunned to learn that the corals aren't plants though

I busted two of my parents friends little kids trying to get snails and hermits out of my tank one day... because they wanted to pet them

Keep in mind my tank in the wall is over 5'6" to the top.. and its a 24" deep tank... they moved a desk to stand on, and were shoulder deep in my tank (practically hanging on the front panel) with my spatula for cleaning the skimmer screwing around with things... Who knows what was on those dirtballs arms, or what they have done before when i wasnt around.

Needless to say, their mother wasnt too excited when i informed her what they were up to... that she would need to sign a blank check to cover anything that got screwed up, and that it would be several thousand dollars if it was anything severe...

Unattended children are my biggest pet peeve, and i just wish ONCE they would try to pet the lion fish in the back room... as bad as that sounds

Skunk, if you had a magfloat, the kids would have never noticed the hermit crabs... guaranteed!

Yeah, and everybody wants to play with it and mess everything up. That´s why I keep it behind a rock on the back of the tank.

I got one of these so it would blend in with my stand just for this reason
2nd on those. Had mine for about 7-8 yrs.

Of course, like others here who had people "mavel" over mag-float, relative had to try it out when I wasn't in the room. She cleaned below the 1" line of algae right above the sand bottom. She got a bunch of sand trapped between the magnet/acrylic pad and scratched the **** out of my tank. Then, wondered why my acrylic tank looked all scratched up afterwards. I was !!

My inlaw once turned up the heater on the old tank when I was camping, she said the light has to be on for it to work.

Bwa ha ha ha ha! Thats a good one!

I was once caught by my dad when I was about 10 trying to stick a paper clip into the wall outlet. I turned around one last time to see if anyone was looking before went ahead with it, and there was my dad just looking at me. He was going to let me do it!

He said "go ahead, I know you"ll never do it again"

Did you ever make an effort to have your tank looking its best and your guests walk right by it several times and don't make a single comment?

haha.. only at my old apartment. I had a nice 55 gallon reef at the time with all sorts of fun corals and fish.. and my roommate had a 55 gallon with (IMO) ugly rocks, no background, HOB filters, and OSCARS! .. again, IMO ugly fish... Completely ignored my reef and all gravitated to those fish!
.. d'oh!

I love it when adults start making fish faces and noises when my tangs are staring them down.

Even better when I tell then to peak over the canopy and my puffer starts spitting water at them.
