The margaritas won't last long at tropical temps. I wish they just wouldn't sell temperate animals for the tropical hobby.

What's your tank size? How old? If its a new tank, I don't reccomend a starfish. They need established systems. You can get away with a serpent or a brittle, but the other, prettier stars need an established system. Also, is this a reef or a FOWLR system? Some stars, and I think the HUGE hermits, aren't reef-safe.

This is a reef, with only LR at the moment, 60gal with 40lbs LR. I set the system up, toward the end of August. I am a slow one when it comes to putting stuff in, I wanted to wait until algae was gone and felt for sure the tank was cycled.

The Hermit crab I have in the tank right now is pretty big, comparing it to a golf ball, the golf ball would be tiny to it. I am getting rid of him in very short time or he might go down into the sump.

I would read up on the blue leg hermits. I haven't had them but several posts lead me to believe they are less snail safe than the scarlets or red legs.
