Too many vertical and horizontal lines, bridges and arches make it look man made.
I think the saltwater tank keepers have a lot to learn from the planted freshwater tank keepers (me included). BTW, I have an horrible looking tank, but it's been with the same rock arrangement for years and I can't persuade myself to change it. So, I wrote a few guidelines for aquascaping reeftanks. Hope I have the chance to put them in practice if I ever setup another tank Here's the link: http://reef-aquascaping.blogspot.com/ |

1 looks good, reminds me of a dragon shape, which is how I'm rearranging my reef.

Thanks guys! I am really going for a look such as the Aquaroche that Aquarium Specialty sells. Only I am trying to do it without spending all that money
I am sure it will change some, but I plan to stay with this scape for the main structure |

To each his own, IMO...but since you asked....I like #1 the best (nice flow). I also like #3 with the 'branching piece'..although I think if you reversed it with the branches facing 'up' would give a more natural look and more places to glue frags.
Maybe you could incorporate the 'branching piece' in #3 to #1...would look pretty sweet. |

It seems like that is the favorite by far. Although I do also like #3 too. Which is pretty much #1 + that branch piece I may play around some, but I sure am glad I took some pictures to record progress and hopefully I can repeat each one if I need to |

just a idea you should epoxy or pond foam all the pieces together cause you dont want your rock work to fall apart after you get a certain fish that bumps into it or the weight of a frag growing and puts the balance off and it comes crashing down ruining a nice grown sps or lps.
