Honestly, i wouldn't have taken on a tank like that, not that I'm an expert or anything. But you did and turned it into something genuinely nice. Lots of potential I didn't see, good job.

Well i got the sump and powerheads hooked up yesterday, unfortunately the sump would not fit under the tank, so i should have just went with the bigger one, right now it is set up next to the tank. Im planning on building some sort of cabinet next to the tank to house maybe 2 or 3 refugiums on top of each other and an ato.

I identified the blenny that came with the tank, its a scooter blenny, which eliminates the option of ever putting a mandarin in there. the scooter blenny is pretty cool he has lots of personality so ill just have to wait till i get a bigger tank.

Thank you, i'm definetly hooked(its driving the girlfriend nuts) lol Right now its a battle between me and the green hair algea and the Cyanobacteria, it looks like the gha is starting to die off in some spots since i put the refugium in.

I figured it was time for an update, Yesterday i got a shippment from reefs2go, I got 25 cerith snails, 25 astrea snails, 20 nass snails, 1 blue 1 green and 1 orange tricolor ricordia, 1 blue mushroom(which is actually purple), 1 watermelon zoa, a sea cucumber, 2 pepperment shrimp, and 2 red brittle sea stars. I only had one problem with the order, and that was the blue shroom almost came off the shell it was attatched to, so i moved it to a place with no current in hopes that it would reattatch. I moved almost all of the hermits into the refugium so they would stop killing all of the snails. The anenome is growing like a weed and i still havnt found him a new home. here are some pics.
the cucumber the green ric the orange ric, blue ric, and melon zoa and the anenome |

Nobody??? Oh well... I went to the lfs on saterday to buy a new frag. I was looking for a pumping zenia or some zoas or something, and I ended up buying a green bubble tipped anenome. So far hes doing pretty good, my clowns havnt started hosting him yet but hopfully soon. Later on I'll post some pics of him.

Nice tank, it's coming along!
I hope you like yellow polyps - because you will soon have TONS. You've been warned. |

Thanx everyone! I do like the yellow polyps, Ive read that alot of ppl have problems keeping them alive, but they seem to be multiplying very fast.

Do you recommend using Garf Grunge to start the tank off right? I am in the process of setting up a tank, and wanted some personal judgement on the stuff. Good? Bad? Waste of money?

nice going on the new tank, i have a 55 with the same stand. All it took was a little mod to the back brace and i fit a 20 tall under mine for the sump. It's pretty tight for the skimmer but it works. I can post some pics of it if you want.
