Wow, that weir is really low in the tank. How high does the water level run on the weir now? How high up will it need to be to reach the canopy?

The bottom of the canopy is about 1.5" from the top of the tank, which is where the orginal bottom of the weir was located. In order to get a high flow over it I drilled out the weir and lowered it about another 1" to give me about 2.5" total weir height along the front.

The water was set to about 1" - 1.5" up off the bottom or just about level or a little higher with the bottom of the canopy. I was trying to get about 1200gph+ over the weir. That flow plus another 1200-1500gph thru the bottom inlets gave me about 2400-3000gph circulation with the closed loop system I was using.

Now I will have two independent loops with a closed loop of up to 1200gph, and the open loop Sump/Skimmer with ? gph. The closed loop exits the tank on two 1.5" bottom bulkheads, and returns on two 3/4" bottom inlets. The Open loop will take flow from the overflow and return via the top manifold nozzles.

I can use the adjustable cover to set the height from inside the overflow with the wingnut fairly easily to get any height I need based upon pump flowrate to the tank. May have to cover some of the rest also...will see.

The Independent Dual Filtration System has been installed with the Super Reef Octopus XP-5000 Int in place. The Pan World 150PS water pump for the return on the Sump is working perfectly with just a small section added to the overflow weir to increase height.
