Im going to have a 250w hamilton reefstar pendant over it. I had started a 90g oceanic for my old structural steel company and when we bought the tank it had them over it. And i was in there the other day and they had t5s now so i asked for them and they said i can have them. So that saves me some money. Plus ill have an extra pendant for my next tank haha.

I will be keeping an eye out! my other main option is that my friend has an 8 bulb t5 set up that he would sell me for 100 bucks
but its 24".. not asthetically pleasing on a 36" tank

got some more stuff!!!
1. Euro-reef RS135 from a friend that didnt need it anymore. (traded for a 40g I had laying around and $50.. can't complain here) The skimmer is still really dirty, but i will take it apart and clean what I can... I have time! haha 2. Flood Light with bulb. Again from a friend, it was laying in the dirt in his backyard with a pile of electricity cables to be thrown away.. easy snatch! 3. Aqua Lifter 20 Pump and some sort of Auto Top-Off System: from yet another reefer buddy in trade for my help moving his tank! 4. Makeshift Kalkwasser doser. basically a 1g water container with an air line tube siliconed in the bottom with a flow regulator at the end of the air line tube.. simple, inexpensive, adjustable, yet effective! 5. A surge protector: friends house that I got the Flood light from was messy and we found it, he said he didnt need it as it was for an old computer... easy snatch again... just thought I would keep you guys updated on the progress.. any comments? question? am I boring you? haha

Make sure you run that skimmer in a vinegar bath. Impellers will lock up, you don't want the impeller to crack when its time to finally fire it up.

is "vinegar bath" a process or literally fill a tub with vinegar and plug it in?
i was just going to soak it and clean it with a razor blade

vinegar bath can be a a small 5g bucket, water+vinegar, let the skimmer run and get it nice and clean... razoring it will be 10x easier after you let the vinegar break down the coraline or crud build up.

The tank build is alive again. I am in the works on a trade for a return pump. Quiet One 4000. Not sure if that will be too much flow, but I can always dial it back or split it and pour some back into the sump if it comes down to it.
Also picked up a new light for the tank. It is a 36" 150watt halide with 2 96 watt power compact actinics. The bulbs were brand new from the guy I bought it from, so I am excited about that, and the price I got it at. Not sure if I am going to upgrade the lights when UCedumacation (Charles/Cj) gets his lazy butt going on the upgrade. Bought a new 150 watt heater, so I know there wont be any problems with it, lost a tank to a heater malfunction, so I dont like to take risks on them.
