Just ordered a new toy for the tank!
Thanks to BF-CM deals, I got something that I've wanted for a really long time...$187 down from $220. I'll keep the suspense high until it's here.

The pics are huge right now, but they usually resize themselves.
I'm freakin amazed by this pump. At first I wasn't that excited. I looked at the box and was like wow that was $185. Then I opened it up, threw it in the nanocube and holy crap I made a wave. Oh, and do all mp10 remotes have the mp-10w? If not they just accidentally sent me the more expensive model.

Hmm, maybe you can find an RO/DI system used on here? I'd say that's more of a necessity than the mp-10. You can get the same flow with cheaper koralias, unfortunatey it will look cheaper as well.

I got mine through socal. $187 shipped.
Here's how I look at it. There's a crazy demand for these. If the day ever comes where I need to upgrade or sell of some equipment, they usually go for $220 + shipping. I can almost GUARANTEE I can sell it on here for $150+. If i'm out $30 after a couple years of a great pump, then I'm more than ok with that.

Socal? Can you post a link to that store? I am shopping for the vortech mp10w ES myself and would love to take advantage of a sale.
Thank you. Looking forward to more pics and progress of your new tank!

Just saw this, sorry sonofgaladriel. www.socaltropicalfish.com
Anyway, just ordered the 150w MH pendant from fishneedit with a 20k bulb. I don't plan on keeping the bulb long, but if I dig the 20k look i'll keep that spectrum over the 14k phoenix. Finals are over, that's one more hell week conquered. I'm moving home for christmas break, where I will be building my stand, ordering the rest of the components for the tank, as well as building the custom 10gallon sump and piecing together the plumbing. I'm ready to get this thing wet.

Received my 150mh light from fishneedit today, and it's very meh. They didn't give me the correct temperature of bulb, and the build quality is pretty shotty. There's a loose piece of something rattling around inside. There's also a few scratches on the outside of the pendant. I'm not very happy, but fear I got exactly what I paid for. It seems to be working fine though besides the yellow color, and the small electric ballast is nice.
I plan on keeping it, and praying that it doesn't catch fire. I do not recommend this light. I'm going to shoot them an email and see if they can change my first impression of the company.

Although I'm not really impressed with my LFS, so I usually only pop in for water. I asked him if he would drill my next tank and he said that on small tanks you go through 10 to get one good hole drilled. I'll do it myself.

It's been about the only thing on my mind lately.
The stand will be built this week. The protein skimmer (bubble magus NAC3+ or 3.5 cone) will be ordered next week, and the sump will be done the week after that. I got the 20k bulb in the mail from fishneedit. I must say, Simon at fishneedit completely changed my mind about the company. Super customer service, and he helped me all the way. Very happy. I move back to college Jan 15th, and plan on having the tank wet by Jan 31st. Merry Christmas all.
