That particular mille was one that got moved to the top right under a lumenarc so its getting pounded with light and flow.In the process it went from a more ordinary blue/green when lower in the DT to the bright blue it is now.

Yes,thanks. The DIY stuff made it possible for me starting out.I had 2 young children in the beginning and not a huge budget so RC was instrumental in making it happen for me with the awesome DIY plans and info riddled thru out the site.

Great looking tank Dan... I love the passion you show for the hobby and inherent ability to "read" your corals. I hope to get there someday

Congratulations!

I'm sure I just missed it somewhere, but what is the wattage of your MH bulbs?

Haha, yes if I can figure out how to shoot a decent one with my Nikon D5000
Unfortunately I do not have a dedicated video camera.I tried a few times with my DSLR but it was very poor quality so I may need to figure this out or get a video camera.Funny thing is I see a few videos shot with a D5000 and they look fine so its probably just me and not the camera.Gotta do some research and give it another try.

Dan, your tank and especially your photos of it, and the amazing corals have been an inspiration to me. Your TOTM is a well-deserved honor. I wish you many more happy years of reefkeeping!

Thanks. No chiller.I use a fan on the sump along with a A/C(summer months) in the fish room to keep the tank between 77 and 80.The rest of the year the 3 ice cap fans in the hood keep it within range.I will say using a controller on your heaters will save you a degree or 2 when lights are on.They are able to shut the heaters off completely where as without a controller the thermostats in the heaters tend to cycle on and off even when the set temperature is achieved making it more unstable and easier to rise above the desired range.
