Croceas like the rock rock since they can attach there foot to something and feel secure! I usually place a tile or something under it. What type of light did you guys finally go with? How long have you had the clam? Thanks

I gave them a piece of pvc to put under it , that way it attaches to it and sits up right. I they have a 250w 15000k metal halide with T5 actinics. ( I stoped by their house not to long ago

Well that is plenty enough light for them. From my experience Crocea clams are the most light demanding thing in the ocean. I would like to get my Clam garden started again.

Come on folks, post your pics here so I can grab them and add them to the website. Or if you want you can email them to starsreefclub@yahoo.com and I can use them from there. I would really like to get at least one pic from every members tank on the website. Lets use the website to it's fullest capacity, there is a huge amount of storage available on the site. Lets use it up and not let the fine people over at The Coral Reef down by not taking advantage of the site that their sponsorship made possible.

Pictures pictures pictures post away.

My tank pics are in the original show your tank thread. I really didn't understand why start a new show your tank thread and split things up. It would have been much easier for everyone to just stick to one thread and easier to view one rather than two threads but it is what it is.

yes but how old are those pics, if you read at the start of this one, it was meant to be a progression of peoples tanks. but this works also. i was wanting more up to date pics of peoples tanks. im new technically to this club from last summer, and as our president those couple of pics of your tank are the only 2 ive seen of it.

The other thread could have served as a progression of peoples tanks as well and already had some pics on it. It really doesn't matter where the pics are or aren't.

President or janitor it really doesn't matter, if you don't have a camera that takes pictures good enough to post then what difference does it make? I am not a photographer and my tank still looks the same today as it did in the last pics posted, or it may not even look as good.

I guess the big and small of it all is that most of the people that are members either don't have the camera or know how to take and post the pics here and it has always kind of been that way. I know very well how to post the pics but my camera leaves a lot to be desired, I can take over a hundred shots and finally get one that is usable. The time that it takes to try to get a shot good enough to post, for me is better spent doing tank maintenance or something else. Where my tank sits makes it even harder to get any good shots.

very true, but to where you are asking for pics. which one sounds different, 1. our president hasnt uploaded new tank pics. or 2. our janitor hasnt uploaded new tank pics. ??? i see a bit of difference.

i only say it because i havent seen any pics since those few is what i meant. and i would love to see some. Not one of us is a professional photographer. but we still manage with what we have. i doubt anyone of us would tell you your camera sucks please dont post anything. haha. theres plenty of reasons why not, and while very valid. it just takes one reason for why yes. cuz we all enjoy it and are interested. i dont think im alone on this one.

Pedro, this is where I will have to disagree with you. Just because I hold a title on a board of people does not make me or my tank any more important than any other member or members tank. I feel like the janitor and the janitors tank is more important than me or my tank. If we don't have the janitor, mail lady, bus driver, cook, electrician and every other walk of life person taking part in the society then there is no STARS and I have no position be it President or not. If the janitor or any other member is not posting then I feel like maybe there is a problem and we need to address it and me posting my pics is not of importance.

Tell you what Pedro I will take a couple shots of my 75 gal fish only and post them up here for ya, even if there are only three fish in it so far.

Here is our 75 gal fish only. Fish in the tank are Yellow tang, Saddled Toby puffer and a hawkfish. Don't tell Steffen the tang is in there. How do you know the janitor only has a ten gallon and not a 500? To see solar tubes and bring me your camera you would have to go a bit farther than Las Cruces.
dg3147 nice looking tank. Thank you for posting.

does it have to be strictly saltwater tanks? :P lol jk jk I have a 10 gallon freshwater tank full of mollies. I will soon start a project on making these saltwater mollies and start breeding them to have strictly all saltwater mollies.. I have heard they help a bunch with the algae and since my lawnmower blenny is lazy and bearly eats from the rocks and glass maybe these will help me with some of myh algae problems
