All the OP's questions can't possibly be answered without knowing anything about the apartment. I had a 2300 square foot apartment and now live in a 1350 square foot house, so size isn't anything that anyone can answer. My last four apartments were slab on grade, I could park a semi in the living room, so weight isn't a factor either. I had an apartment with a full utility room, so space for accessories wouldn't be an issue, and I had an apartment where the landlord said it was okay to remove a wall, so modifications to the property are moot too.

I have a 125 in my apartment on the 2nd floor. Be sure and find out which way the joists run in your floor if you're going to be putting in a heavy tank. I have my RO/DI unit in the kitchen pantry, with a 1/4" line running from the cold water line under the sink. I ran the waste line to the garbage disposal tee under the sink. I use two tubs, one for clean water and one for salt mix. It seems to work just fine for me.

Thanks again for all the advice everyone!
I suppose I do need to give a few more specifics about the apartment, but the trouble is I do not know all that much. The apartment and I are still on two different sides of Canada! XD I know it is on the tenth floor, a good size for a student apartment, clean, new and shared with two other students. I'm afraid I do not know too many specifics other than that just yet, hence the vagueness. |
