Tell ya what, pay me $20K and I'll set you up with a killer tank that will be better than what you got, I'll even include corals and some fish. PLUS, I'll even drive down and set it all up for you.

Best of all, I just saved you over $3K.

Werd...

I read the equipment you got...and I don't see where this should have cost over $6k.

I'd return as much as you can and start looking around.

A tank that size with NO FISH or CORAL...should run you no more than $6k.

GL with your build.

The guy on here that has that massive system in his new house, (Bill) I could only imagine how much he's spent on that tank. I don't think Fort Knox holds enough money to pay for that one.

48" tall tank? that thing is a monster.

thats the most awkard looking display dimensions I've ever seen.

only 5ft long, but 4ft tall??

i dont even know what kind of lighting that would work well for a 4ft tall tank.

OK, I'm sorry but I'm going to call BS on this...

I don't know anyone that has $23k to spend on a tank and doesn't know where the shift key is or uses "u" for "you"...

If the OP is "special" enough to have made this purchase, well, I have this vintage 1973 Pinto Wagon I need to chat with him about

yes i agree too, on the lighting. the tank is 30inch deep. he will need 400w, then again i guess it depends on what kind of tank it will be

His other posts read similar. I assume English wasn't his native language. It's not just the "u" and "you" issues.

C'mon, guys. We are falling into one of the worst habits that often befall this forum. We are starting to attack to poster. Even commenting that his English and posting manners are lousy, and responding in other less than friendly or helpful ways. Ok, so some think he messed up and spent too much money. Well, then give him options and help, like some other posters have.

Post a build thread, rocking. Hopefully, you'll prove a lot of us wrong and build one amazing tank. If not, hopefully we can offer you some constructive help and advice. Good luck!

Why is everyone attacking the guy?

If he spent 23k...then so be it. Sounds like someone is glowing with envy...not a good thing.

Try to keep the comments +...and help the dude save some money.

You bought a $3600 chiller that you dont need (its about a grand cheaper on aquacave, btw). The light you bought wont heat up the water that much that you'll need a chiller. I keep numerous small tanks so I use t5 and dont have much experience with MH, but from what I do know, you will probably need 400w MH for a 30 inch tall tank, and you'll need at minimum 3 or 4 of them, some would even say 6 fixtures.

I dont want to be mean, but you were seriously misinformed, or just like spending money and bragging about it.

I agree on the lighting . I'm kicking 2 250s on a 65g. You def need 400s

I agree with this 100% WOW thats alot of stuff not needed. Sorry to inform u of this though. Hell I only spent $330 on a 240g tank and $180 for the stand. ( DIY )

Start a build thread! I hope you did not spend all this money on your first saltwater tank, but even if you did, a build thread here will help you make the most out of your "investment".
If he is to start A build thread he will need A camera 1500.00 plus the macro lens 500-1000.00 dollars later and the bag ,memory etc lol going to be over 10k in no time brother..I believe in recycling and buying from fellow reefers on the for sale thread why pay 450 per vortech when you can get them 200 dollars cheaper from a fellow reefer.?

Well, isn't height better for seahorses? So maybe he wants seahorses??? I'm just guessing, he never said what he wanted to accomplish with this tank.

Good Luck Though!!!

It is really hot in Nor Cal. I lived there most of my life, and have only been in Kansas for 2 years (husband's in the Army), but other than those 2, it was all in Sac. It does get really hot there, but I'm not sure the tank would get that hot if your house isn't??? Just wondering.

Welcome to the forums Rocking. That is a lot of money to spend but as long as it makes you happy who cares what any one else thinks. In the future you can always post on here before you buy something that way you can ge advise and also maybe even a source with a cheaper price.
