Place a piece of eggcrate over your return pump (or build an eggcrate cage for it), insert cheato and provide a light source, enjoy your new refugium.

You can build a cage by cutting the eggcrate to size and connecting it with zip-ties.

Just a ball of cheato would be fine. I use a 6500K curly-que bulb from the hardware store, and replace it every few months(3-Pack). I also have a small, cheep reflector that I found near the extension cords at the same store.

MH would be fine in the correct spectrum, but it demands a lot of electricity and space to run. It could also cause heat issues in the summer time.

+1 on the CFL's, I use a CFL Flood light, I think its something like 14 watts and the spectrum is 6500k I believe.

if you are looking for stuff pumps lights ect ask in this forum and you might be able to save a few bucks along the way. like i see you guys got some cheato. im not sure where you got it or if you payed for it. most of us have to throw it out the door sometimes so that means free for the takeing plus it is full of pods and stuff.
