Dude! Why donīt you get it!!!!! Itīs kinda annoying see people treat fishes as toys or something. They are living things taken most of the time out of their enviroment for our own pleasure, wich comes with the bad side of loosing lots of animals every year. So understand that your tank is indeed small, it ainīt a nano tank, but still doesnīt fit in the large tank area either. So try to stick to the kind of and quantity of fish you can have in your tank!!!!!

Not to play devil's advocate too much here, but all tanks (even the 8 and 9 foot tanks) are not suitable for tangs. Tangs can and do live healthy lives in reef aquariums, but it is not suitable for the animal to live in captivity. I think we need to lay off the OP a little bit and just give him the advice he needs. Whether he listens or not is up to him, but we all make our own choices when it comes to our tanks and getting all "tang policey" solves nothing - it only makes matters worse with people arguing over what's proper care and what isn't.

Remember, a 4inch scopas tang has more swimming room in a 4ft than a 12" blonde naso tang has in an 8ft tank.

Jesus guys, I'm giving the tang to a 500 gallon hospital reef aquarium to live until I get rid of him. I wasn't trying to argue with anyone, I just like to ask questions ( a lot sometimes ) so I can help people in the future who make mistakes like me.
Sorry that I really upset some of you by simply attempting to gain insight into tangs.
I thought this would be more of a friendly forum for people to be helpful to new reef owners like myself. IMO for future reference you probably don't want to be so quick to bash.

We try to do the best in housing the fish we purchase,at least the people who has some knowledge about reefing do anyway, but if we think about it are tanks are alot smaller than any ocean no matter if its 30 gallon or 3000 gallon.
Its best to research and ask questions like you did. Your right a 72 gallon tank is not small but it depends on what you put in it. Its best to research the fish first, get yourself a want list then build your tank around that. You just cant setup a tank then toss fish in it then ask if its ok.
Just keep asking questions and read alot and you will enjoy this hobby for a long time.

Peace
