Its hard to tell, but there is a path in my liverock, inside this crevise I have been noticing a build up of a sand like substance. Mind you I dont have live sand, I have black porous hawaii "sand". So the appearance of this white coarse sand leads me to believe its the outcastings of their burrowing. It was hard to get a picture, especially with an iphone, it had thin black rings on every sediment. I couldn't see the head, i feel lucky being able to grab what I did.

Did you only have "one"? or did you find alot. I am concerned it can reproduce like bristles, cause i have quite a bit of them.

oh this is exactly what I had! Wow I'm lucky I was able to isolate the rock it was in and remove that rock. I haven't seen a recurrence since then. Hopefully they aren't as prolific as the bristleworms.

I set my radion led fixture to 10% red only, sure enough I found the hole he lives in, I think i just got his tail, I can see a head with a few pinchers sticking out the hole.

Man is he ugly.

I am not sure how these guys reproduce But I only had trouble with this one worm for 5 years .There was never multiple sightings at the same time or multiple sand tubes. It was bad enough having one , more than one would have been a nightmare.

Good job, you were lucky it was holding up in an accessible rock.
