Looking good. Ready to see some things in the tank.
My vote was for aquascape #1. Its more unique and everyone does the island thing...so i think #1 would make it more unique |

Well because I have next to no bio-load to put into the tank (one six-line wrasse and some corals) I didn't ramp up my cycle. The ammonia reading of 1 that I topped out at was enough for me.
Readings are now at: Ammonia: 0 Nitrite: 0 Nitrate: 5 SG: 1.025 The nitrates have been reduced solely by the growth of my chaeto. So at this point I have diatoms coming on the sand and rocks and the wrasse is in the tank. I may go ahead and add the corals this weekend depending if I can find some epoxy to secure them with. I don't have all of my new T5's bought though so I may hold off until I have the new bulbs...but I doubt it! If I get the corals and light transferred over this weekend I'll get some updated pics. |

Well, I got all the coral and inverts moved over today. Got the Tek light on the tank and the skimmer moved. Of course, not everything is happy yet but here's some pics anyway (poor ones taken with my iPhone but you get the idea):

Nice tank. I've been looking at all the 120 tech tanks and I'm on a mission to find one. Nice rock setup.

Good luck finding a 120 tech, they are nice tanks!
I'm fighting some algae right now, so that's why I haven't updated any pics. Corals and everything are doing great, just is pretty unsightly with the algae. I have a hair algae outbreak and I think dinoflagellates, but could be cyano. A bit hard to tell. I'm thinking of trying gfo to see if i can get it under control. And some kind of algae eating fish, i.e. rabbitfish. |

Careful and do your research. Some rabbits nip at corals. Good luck, this stuff is a pain to battle. Prolly already know this: siphoning algae off your rocks takes the nutrients out with it. Turbo snails can eat it when it's short.
c'mon and post a pic anyway. I did of my old tank. It shows everyone what people go through and gives newer people hope

Ok, here we go. Shots of the algae filled tank.
FTS w/all lights on: Left Side: Right Side: Red Monti (the ridge/outline you can see within it was the size it was when I got it): Rics: Hammer (not as extended as I would like, I think it might get too much flow there): Chalice: Princess Peach Zoas: Superman Shroom: |

Some kind of lobo I think with a lovely algae background:
Zoa colony: Acans: More acans: Lobo: Acans again: Coral shots were taken with just the blues on, hence the washout. The algae is worst and spreading from one of the few eco rocks I have in there from BRS. |

Thanks, I have some algae to kick but I'll get there, I hope!
I don't have a stocking list planned out, I'm just going to play it by ear. Right now all that's in there is a six-line wrasse leftover from my old tank, a cleaner shrimp, an emerald crab and some snails. I want probably a clownfish pair, I'd like some nicer wrasses and a suitable tang or two for sure. I want to keep it as peaceful as possible though. |

That doesn't look too bad. I sooo love all your corals! If you ever want to know generals about a wrasse shoot me a pm here or the other place. I'm a wrasse crackhead! I'm going to put some in my 40, just not 100% sure on what yet Probably a flasher...maybe a fairy.
What are you mag levels currently? Have you heard of people dosing magnesium to help get rid of algae? Could search it on here.

Thanks Korrine. No it's not that bad, certainly not overrun with algae, yet!
I have read some on the mag dosing but I don't think it's severe enough for that yet. I really think if I can get nitrates down a bit more (hang around 15) and implement gfo I'll be coming along good. I don't know my current mag levels because my test kit ran out and I haven't gotten a new one yet. It's also on the list of things to get. I really like leopard wrasses but trying those will be a bit down the road as I've read they are a bit harder to keep. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Yea the leopards are soo beautiful, but can be hard to keep. I'd get one off Diver's Den when you are ready. My favorite is the Potter's Leopard wrasse Which one are you thinking?
Do you have a cover? Wrasses tend to be huge jumpers I have decided I'm going to staple the netting on the back of my hood. My hood has walls on 3 sides so if one jumps and hits the side of the hood it will fall back in the tank.

I do have a screen top on the tank, but there's still spots here and there it could escape from probably. It's not completely locked down. I like the regular Leopard or Blue Star ones. Something to strive for.

New pics and additions (pics taken under B+ bulbs only):
FTS (woo, look at that hair algae glow!): Favia: Rics: Princess Peach Zoas: Blastos: Chalice: Acan Echinata (I think): AOG Zoas (new addition tonight): Elegance (added tonight): Also added a green devil's hand leather (it fell over so couldn't get a good pic) and One-Spot Foxface Rabbitfish The elegance is HUGE and awesome with nice bright breen polyps and purple tipped tentacles. It has a neat z shape to it as well. Hopefully I can get better pics of it as it opens up and gets better acclimated. |

FTS: This derasa is outgrowing his space. It's probably 8" long, 6" high and 4" across. Trying to show the shy little Scopas in there... End shots from the left end: From the right end and the Lubbock's Fairy Wrasse: Maxi-mini that made his home in the back corner of course: Acans: Lobo: |
