do the radions have to be connected to a controller for them to work properly
or do you just connect the usb to the computer?

No controller needed, you program through USB then disconnect the cable and you are good to go.

Do you have the location for your link?

When I say moisture I'm meaning more the splash up and resulting salt crust...LEDs run cool, my LED fans don't run the entire time the light is on, I'm wondering if there were to be water splash up when the fans are off, if the salt would dry and overtime the buildup could add weight, causing the fan to become noisy? I only started to think about this, when I took my light down after a year of running to give it a good cleaning...even though I use a can of compressed air from time to time to blow the dust off, there was a still a fair amount of dust stuck to the fan blades, it made me wonder how crusty & dusty they would have been if they were on the bottom like the Radion.

Just a thought.
It's a standard 120mm computer fan... I couldn't imigine it would take more than 5 minutes to swap a new on in and they cost near nothing

I don't have a canopy, and I hate light spill.

If I'm spending that much for a fixture, I'm doing so in hopes of getting a fixture that will be low in maintenance and worries. I went LED on my tank cause I hate changing bulbs...I don't want to exchange replacement bulbs hassle for replacement fans hassle, even if fans were free.

Not trying to argue, just my random worry that I have about the design.
The OP asked if it was worth the money, and I'm not entirely convinced it is.

Just about any light source which uses phosphors will slowly dim, LEDs Cree or otherwise.
