So ill be using one as master and one as slave. My question is ...is it better to use these alone or through a controller like a reefkeeper instead? Which way would be better and why?

Sorry lol its going kinda slow but I just been so busy trying to get this room ready done so that I can start on the tank...but it wont be long now haha. I just dont want to put a beautiful tank in an ugly room lol. I got 2 pumps cause I dont want any dead spots. I figure its better to have more flow than not enough and with these I can turn them down if I need to One thing I def need is a better camera. Tried to take sum more pics for you guys last night but they came out terrible because the room has low light ambiant lighting and pictures dont come out so well....so Iam thinking HD camera now....ugh....the things you gotta do for your reef lol

This dry rock is very beautiful...got sum nice pieces of all sizes and shapes. Very Minimal rubble. Surprised at how light weight it is and it looks like its very porus as well. BRS Pukani Dry Rock. I ordered 30 pounds of this. I allready have probably 50-60 pounds of rock from my previous aquarium that I saved which ill be using also...mixing it up a bit. Iam probably not going to use all the rock. I allways like to have extra on tap to work with. Iam not sure what kind of aquascaping ill be doing yet. May aim for a minimalistic look but well see

I also got the BRS 6 stage plus RODI Unit. Working perfectly. Its got the pressure guage on top and instructions say pressure should be between 50-60psi but iam getting only like 30 from my sink. Dont know if I need a booster pump or what? Yet still water comming out is 0 TDI so itll have to do for now I suppose.

I picked up a 50 galloner from Walmart so Iam soaking all the rock in rodi water right now along with a maxijet.

Going to use a brush after wards to scrub all the rock cleaning it nice and free of all debree. Last thing I want is bits and pieces falling off in my aquarium and onto my sandbed. I want my sandbed to be nice, clean and sharp. We all have nice clean carpets and so our fish should too

Ok so Iam finally done cleaning the rock....really glad I took this extra step rather to just place the rocks directly into the tank. I was left with ton of debree that fell off and brownish yellow water which would have all have fallen into my display so the extra effort was well worth it. Here they are now drying outside

Yes I have actually...I was going to go with a 50g cube but changed my mind and went with a 70g instead. The dimensions are perfect. Its like a cube but slightly rectangular so you get the best of both worlds
To be exact its a 70g starfire Cadlights Artisan Aquarium http://www.cadlights.com/index.php?m...roducts_id=200 and the dimesions are: 36x24x18 so its gonna fit nice and snug where iam planning to place it in my room. Ill have more pics up soon so stay tuned. I cant wait to set this thing up!

No sorry not yet the tanks still boxed up however I did open the stand and started to work on it...I went with the dark stand instead of the white one because itll match my new furniture and I know that the white will get dirty and dingy fast

Heres sum pics of the stand Ive started to work on. It comes as panels in a box with all the hardware. I do gotta tell you it does not come with instructions though so if your not good at putting things together you may have a hard time. Luckily for me I just came off a spree of assembling 1 queen bed 2 night chests and dresser so Iam able to put this thing together with no instructions. And if I hadnt assembled those things to be honest with you I probably would have ran into alot of trouble lol...good thing I had gotten some practice before hand and was able to recognize all the parts fairly easily.

On the back wall of the stand there a are 2 holes pre-drilled towards the top for ventalation. I wanted more venting so Iam drilling another hole in the middle of those 2. Iam also drilling 2 more holes towards the bottom of the stand. Not only will this give more airflow inside the stand but will also give more options when routing wires and cables. I hate cable clutter running everywhere so its gonna be a nice clean look enabling me to hide cabling as much as possible.

So I got the lights in today. I decided to go with a 36" 8 bulb ATI. Theres no way I can go wrong with this one. So how would you do it if you had the fallowing bulbs to work with only because its the only bulbs I have at the time (have multiples of every color) ...Any suggestions on bulb combinations are welcome

ATI BULBS:

AquaBlue
Blue +
UVL Super Actinic
Purple Plus
