All,

I think I found the root cause:
Large amount of GFO in my phosban reactor caused RPN (rapid tissue necrosis)

I am pretty sure that's it.

Thanks for your comments/suggestions...

What kind of salt are you using? Like everyone else is saying, stop dosing the Iodine and check your current levels.

You may not need to even dose, your salt/regular water changes may provide enough for what you have.

Did not look like the video showed on my post. Wanted to show you the flow. It's the coral on the right at the very top.

Looking great!

My current 28-gallon is about to be full by summer end. I am planing to restart my 125-gallon which I brought it down several years ago.

I had several patches of red slime on the sand bed about 2 months ago, so I guess I doubled/tripled the amount of GFO in my phosban reactor to combat with that issue. Well, apparently the overdosing has an unexpected and undesirable side effect which is RTN. Hard lesson is learned...

Well we all know what red slime means. It's hard to cut back on feeding but I think the tank does better a little dirty. Like Nitrates at 5. I'm considering using biopellets myself just so I can make my fish fat......

IMO/IME GFO is dangerous in large quantities. Stripping the water of nutrients so quickly seems to start RTN/STN. GFO also impacts Alk and Ph rapidly, driving both down. It also removes more than just PO4 and Silicates. Good luck.
