I dont think so, but im not sure. The ones i bought were very smal 3-4 cm, maybe they can be males at that size. But i was told that males are very agressiv in smal groups, less than 5. And that they should be keept in larger schoals if possible.
But when stating feeding seriusly one of has doubled the size, put on streamers and more colour. :-)

Those smithvanizi look great. I have never seen them for sale locally though. Do any of the online vendors carry them?

I've seen them on Diver's Den before. I also saw them at a LFS a few times, so I would think if your LFS uses any of the wholesalers in LA they should be able to get them too.

I have a trio of dispars that I'm partial to. Very vibrant colors, small, and fairly easy going.
