I started with an MP40 on my minimalist aquascaped very mixed reef, it wasn't enough flow in my opinion, the flow really tapered off at about the 3 foot length. I have since added an MP10 to the opposite side that is running at full blast. I kinda wish I got another MP40, the flow from the MP10 just isn't impressing me. I have a sand bed that is 1" aragonite that does not blow around. My corals love the flow, especially SPS and gorgonians. I also have a few torches and a goiniopora that are healthy and expand well. As someone mentioned above, the MP10 seems to work pretty hard at full blast, you can always dial down the 40s and you will be good if you ever upgrade to a larger system. I wouldn't think that 2 MP10s would be even close to adequate in a 75. it may be best to go with MP40 and a koralia on the opposite side back wall.

I believe its 5/16. The pump holds on well.

You must not have read the rest of the thread. the mp10s are fine in a 75 unless you maybe run really heavy SPS. I also think you having an mp40 then adding a 10 didn't help your perception since the 40 is quite a different beast.

newyorksteelo has a video on youtube about using two vortechs on one tank. The circulation and undertow are greatly improved with using two. In the video he has a lot of microbubbles in the tank to show the flow pattern.

Hey Zypharus,

I see you're in Belgrade. Does Bozeman still have Land & Sea Pets?

I read the thread... From my personal experience with upgrading from a bunch of koralias to the MP40, then adding an MP10, I just don't think that the 2 10s would cut it at all.... Even if I had no SPS... From a nutrient export and oxygenation standpoint alone. My corals responded with more impressive growth and PE with the flow increase.

Hmm weird. I don't know why your experience was so different from mine?

Cherubfish: No, the only place we have out here now is a little shop called Crystal Clear Aquariums. I'd say an average LFS.
