Yep, definitely. I use the AquaClear brand sponges. They come in 3 packs at Petsmart, are cheap, and I can just chuck it and use a new one for the next batch of fish.

You can leave it in your sump for a few days to seed it or just put it directly in the quarantine filter and either ghost feed the tank a little or add fish and do water changes until it gets established. I've used all of those methods with good success. Seeding is definitely the easiest.

Please, read the stickies on this board about creating a QT. A bucket and 2g of water is just a death sentence. If your are still running the 20g, you absolutely do not have any business putting a tang of any kind in it, or a flame angel. How many flame angels have you lost now, 2 or 3? Please do better research, an afternoon of research will save you a ton of $.

Your telling me to do better research yet you are creating your own story here?

Who said I have a 20 gal tank?
Who said I QT in a bucket?
Who said 2-3 flames died?

What on earth did you just make up? Lol

Here's the thing -

From your pics, it looks like you had at least 3 fish to treat: Flame, YT and an Anthias.

From your description of the symptoms, your tank was likely infected with either Ich or Velvet.

So, you either choose to ride it out and try to "manage" the problem with all the various Ich management tools OR you make preparations for a sustained treatment. Setting up, say, a 20 gal QT with heater/small powerhead would be one treatment option for using Cupramine.

Treating in a bucket should have never even been an option. I would even attempt TT with 3 fish in just a bucket.

My "story" was created from your posts. I read your old posts and that is what I saw.

You first listed your tank as a 20g, then I see on 11/10/12 you say "I have a 40B" Far too small for a Flame and Tang.

Just skimming you past posts I see, 1 Coral Beauty, 1 Yellow Goby, Yellow Tang, Flame angel, damsel, "bro all 3 died except for my very first fish, the clown.", "clown and clarkii".....

So that is AT LEAST 11 fish dead in a little over a year. Yes sir, I suggest you do more research. You obviously didn't because you put the tang and flame angel in a 40g tank. I'm not trying to be mean, but I'm trying to save you $ and the lives of your fish.
