I am getting ready to setup my 150 and I plan on using 2 IT2040. I have one over half my 75 gallon at the moment and I really like it. I don't think they can be beat for the price.

Hey. Any chance you have a pic or two to post that shows how the light is set up and how it looks?

LFS recomended a AI Vega OR the new AI Hydra. I was told that one would probably do since I cut the top cross piece off. Thoughts?

My tank is 36" with no cross piece. 24" deep. I do keep a variety of corals from acros to wellsi's and hammer corals.

Anyone use these lights or have a different recomendation. I like lots of features, color spectrums, and a light that will be best for the depth and groth of corals/live rock with a night program also.

Certainly looking forward to saving on the electric bill and less heat!!!! Thanks for your help!! Tim P.
If you went for the most high end lamp on the market the GHL Mitras at your size tank you would only need one fixture and probably work out cheaper surprisingly than all the others due to only needing one.

I moved from 3 150W MH, to three ACAN double blue ( i would just go with the regular next time), all of my corals have done amaizing and after 1 year of using them, I have to remove coral to keep the tank from being to crowded.
I waited a year to deteremine if these are good lights or not and my conclusion is they grow corals better than my MH. After pricing out a DYI LED and these it was a no brainer, I got all three for $1100 they are even cheaper now. I have a 180 72x24x24.

Tim, the OP, have you bought new lights yet? I'm just curious there you are or what you ended up doing.

BTW, back at the begining you asked if price wasn't an issue would I still have gone with the EverGrow. The answer is yes. I haven't seen anything but slightly better looks from any more expensive led fixtures. And mine are in a canopy so I don't care much about the looks. And a year after the change from 3 MH tanks and 1 t5 tank to all 4 being leds, my 1st year electricity savings has been just over $375.00 and my new bulb costs would have been another $350.00. The $725.00 total savings is just over half of what I paid for 6 led fixtures new from EverGrow. So less than a 2 year pay back... what a deal. Oh, and my corals are doing just as well now as they were under all that MH.
