I also decided to stain inside to match, heavy polyeurethane coated so it will handle any moderate spills.
Also got my sump in here and checking out skimmer clearance.

Looks great Dave! I can't wait to see it up and running. I'm sure you're anxious to get your reef-zen going again.
BTW, I have more wine for you. Just say the word.

Just posting to complement you on your stand and canopy. I love the Octo!
Can you tell me what the material is called that is what I assume is some kind of light defuser. The rust colour is sweet! Exciting times for you as I bet you're about to get this wet!

Once again work is getting in the way of my fun, but I did manage to find time to make some new acrylic rod holders for pillars, going to redo my rockwork.

Plumbing test was good, but I fine tuned my drain a bit, made a few changes.
Swapped to all flex line so I could squeeze things into the overflow better, reworked drain to adjust water level. Not the prettiest right now but it's absolutely silent, and I'll hit what shows w/ krylon fusion to hide the ugly. This is a cool new flex line I picked up at home depot. I cut this up to fit and fix water level A little krylon fusion so I don't see this through overflow teeth Flex line and a 22 elbow makes no splash in sump. Locklines will connect to this, I'll hit w/ fusion later. Simple as it gets drain and return

Krylon fusion to the plumbing that may show in overflow.
My GF said this reminds her of Bender from Futurama, and it is flex line, so I'm calling it the bender drain. I also added some eggcrate in drain opening to help keep snails and small fish from getting in, I'll make an overflow cover later as well.

OK, playing around w/ lighting inside sump area, trying to decide what looks best.
I have a flexible LED strip w/ remote, able to change color or put on random color shift. I also added cleats and got my lights on, scored a great deal on a Geisemann Reflexx T5 unit, and added my Panorama Pro LED strips. Also trying to level out lighting on the octo.
