In the box there is controller with power supply,don't be confused if there is no DC convert its all in the box.AC controlling is more difficult to make than DC and that is why is hard to copy.If it fails is more difficult to repair.

Are you trying to imply that the typical DC pump on the market is more reliable than the ATI's pump?

Oh,you can not say AC or DC is more reliable,it depends how is made.Once I was repairing an old Tunze AC controller fortheir wavemaker,I can say it was very well made.
But One day all equipment should be DC,it is safer.
