Hi Greg I have set my units up with the same settings but with lower percentages whilst I continue to acclimatise, really like the look so thankyou for sharing. Will adjust my percentages to match yours over the next week or so.

You're welcome- I did shorten the photo period by one hour.
Still seeing pretty happy corals across the board in terms of polyp extension, coral color and growth. Clams, LPS, mushrooms and toadstool leather all on the sand are doing well, as well as SPS and Euphyllias higher up.

How high off the water do you guys run your lights? I have a chance to get a used V1 and I'm considering it. What is the spread from the fixture. It is upgraded to with the wifi model. Is there any difference between the v1 and the model out now?
Anyone else have a v1 that I can see a picture of the unit
Thanks
Corey

I have two of the v1 units as well as a v2b. All on wifi. The v1 channels are not the same as the v2b. I have them at 13 inches above the water but I would recommend 18 inches for the best look. The v1 is bluer than the v2b easily. The spread and depth of water penetration is substantial. For a single v1 at 100% on all 4 channels at 18 inches above the water, my experience is 36x24easily.

Hi Greg,

Great job for sharing your knowledge and experience. I'm using your settings right now and the corals love it.!

Two questions:
- What are your actual timings and settings at this moment.
- Can you share a recent picture or video of the lighting and the response of your corals?

King regards,

Vincent

It's been too long since I took pictures or video- it's on my to do list. The corals have been growing like crazy the last several months- to the point where I really need to get in there and do some fragging. Here are the settings that I've been using for quite a while now:

Channel 4 is the same as 3.

Greg,

I love the tri-color and now that I know where to get a replacement for the one I lost in the crash......

This was mine and I'm glad to see that you are getting the same results. The corals are looking beautiful. Polyp extension is awesome.

Keep the pics coming.

Wow that is pretty! Mine has changed quite a bit since I got it. Was nearly dead but came back pretty quick. For a while I thought the whole thing was going purple but then it morphed into what you have.

Hey guys have any of you had a hair algae problem pushing that much light? I've been adjusting my v2 ch 1 running 73% ch 2 83% ch 3&4 30% with the full light cycle at 8hrs. Nitrates 0 phosphates 0. Lights are 16 inch over my 90g. For some reason I'm still battling hair and a touch of cyano. Any suggestions?

I've dialed the red channel back to 20%- I think that might help with the algae. I've also got the full brightness only for about 6 hours, long ramps on either side.
One thing I've picked up on lately when I experimented with raising channel 3 to 50 to get a whiter look- my tri-color started to show faded blues within only a couple days. Back to 40 and the intense blues came right back within a week or so.

Sounds closer to mine. I only run my heights the intensity for 6 hrs or so. I will try dialing down 3&4 a little more. Thanks for the input Greg.

Gregr have you noticed channel 3 have the most effect in bringing out your tri color? I have a frogspawn that has seemed to turn very fleshy dull color with my current settings.

I've changed my program just a tiny bit. Channel three is now at 40 and channel 4 is only 20. Seems like everything in the tank is doing well now- anemones at the top and down low, clam on the sand, LPS and SPS and softies too. The video in my signature is from a week ago

Sorry I missed your question.
I always think of channels 1 and 2 as having the biggest effect on coral color. Back when I got my lights I remember one of the Orphek guys told me that channels 1/2 were for color and growth and channels 3/4 were for adjusting the color to look good to our eyes. But then, there was a noticeable improvement when I went from 30 to 40 on channel 3.

Hi all the way from Western Australia.

I was almost about to give up hope on this light until I found this thread.

I am going to try your settings Greg to see what happens to my corals.

I am running the compact though with the new duel chip led.

Matt

Good luck and don't give up. It took me forever to get them dialed in with such limited information from Orphek. For me I found my channel 3&4 run better around 10&8 %. But keep in mind I'm running two atlantik v2 over a 90g (lighting overkill). Keep us posted.

I had mine in the inbuilt colour and growth but I think it is what is causing my algae outbreak as po4 and no3 are at 0.

I find that either not many people have these lights or not many people post up their schedules.

I was tossing up between these and the hydra 52's at the time and these won as such as I could get them sooner.

Hopefully this schedule makes a difference.

What do you run your channels 1&2 at Nccowboy15?

I want to say 1-78 and 2-84. It's the highest I've had those channels at. I'm still battling algae as well but not nearly as bad since I dropped 3&4. They run at these peak settings for about 4 hrs with about 3 hrs of crank up and down on either side.

I'm gonna drop my channel 4 even lower then and see what happens. Since I posted my settings way back I've lowered channel one a bit- down to 78. 3 I like to keep pretty high because I want a whiter look than most people like I guess. 2 is at 100- I suppose I could lower that and channel 3 to balance out.
So many options... gotta love that.
Ignore the overall color because this was made with a cell phone, but aside from that you can see that almost all the corals are very happy:

A wee pic of my tank from the uk under the atlantik v2.1b running ch1 90 ch2 100 ch3 80 ch4 70 for 5 hrs with a 3 hr ramp up and down either side, 12inches above the water, tank size is lxhxw 38x30x27 and 1 unit does this size easy, tanks been running about 3 months now and all frags started on the sand bed then moved up slowly, must say I do love these lights, but as said have not found much info on these lights, glad to have found this thread

How far above the waterline is everyone mounting their Orpheks? I have a single Atlantik over a 75g at 9" above the waterline. My program is similar to gregr with a little more blue. My colors are great but not very impressed with the growth (or lack there of).
