I would increase by 5% every 3 days or so, this should be fine. Your Xenia and Magnifica will adapt to max light, I am not sure about your other corals

I wouldn't use 100% intensity on a 33 gallon tank. IMO, you should shoot for about 75% eventually.

I have made it so that it will ramp up to 60% of Max in 2 weeks. I also have Acanthastrea and a small Torch Coral and some discosoma. Possibly the Acan will complain as he is mid level - might get to bright for him. Here a pic of the tank a few minutes ago. Its not the nicest pic of my tank - but will suffice for now. Ill take some pics tomorrow when the lights are at noon. Here is my current schedule(when it reaches 60%). Im open to suggestions and improvements. |

As promised just a small update. Ive had the Radion G2's in for less then a day. Right now its at its Peak intensity (30%) all channels up.
Pulled out the Nikon and took some shots. It looks to me as though Mr Anemone is literally Lapping up the light. He has spread himself out, and is facing the light as best he can. I tweaked the image a little on Photoshop - its a little lighter in the tank then the pic resembles. (need to learn how to take proper pics of the tank etc) Surprisingly the Torch Coral also seems to have swelled up. and of course the Xenia look like they dancing in the lights - no complaints there. very happy with the purchase so far. I have seen a dramatic change in a VERY short space of time! |

Hey Reefers - Just wanted to give an update.
Also want to thank addictedreefer and OrionN for pointing out my error relatively quickly - lighting. So for those of you with Anemones - and they looking sad, like in my initial pics 3 weeks ago - here you can see the changes and improvements. The Mag is growing everyday, eating well, LOVING the lighting, and shows it! |
