Like Simon says (remember that game?!) "one must also consider the number of tanks being built." Marineland and glasscages are both commonly known to bust seems and such. But they also build way more tanks then their competitions so in return they also have a high % of tanks still in operation. I'm not saying go with them or don't, im just saying that needs to be taken into consideration as well. I had my tank custom built....

I wonder how many of these failures are related to improperly built stands or poor structures supporting them.

I was thinking the exact same thing.

My 265 Marinelands came with a Marinelands stand and canopy, when I contacted marinelands they didn't sound too surprised it leaked , and when I talked to the LFS mine was the second one that week. Marinelands said they would replace it ,but do I want one that might leak again. I lost all my big corals and all my fish are fighting in my 29 biocube, big change in surroundings.

I know Marineland moved their manufacturing to china. I cant speak on their current tanks but I have an older Marineland 120 that's solid.

Viking , sorry to hear about your tank failure. I would have a tough time trusting the same tank again. I guess you could get it and either add more silicon to the seams and shore up the brace some how, or just sell it new on craigslist to get some of your $ out.
