Another way is to program the lights to have a constant programing meaning the light will stay on all the time, and use your timing to turn the lights on and off. I would recommend against programming the time you want the lights to turn on and use a timer as well since from my observation, if you turn off the lights, the lights will lose it sense of time and would turn on at different times. I would suggest against not using the controller as its a pain in the *** to program the light without it. Quote:

So I decided to go with 400w halides (3 of them which I had from my last tank) and then supplement with LED's. I contemplated for a couple weeks going with LED and T5's, but bulbs are getting increasingly more expensive and harder to find up here in a Canada and then I would also need to rig up moon lights as well. By going with LED's, I would be able to punch down and get the PAR up at the bottom of my tank for SPS growth (as my tank is 36" deep) by using a 10k bulb (which is more yellow) and then adjust the LED unit to tank the tank colour a little more blue while giving the corals enough PAR for good growth. Plus the moonlights would essentially come with the LED units, I'll turn one of the blues on to 1-2% during the night. I decided to go with Hydra 52 HD (3 of them for now). I wanted a unit that has known punch and power, but I also wanted to buy a unit that was easily able to be monitored over my controller. It was between the new Radions and the Hydra's, people noted that the Radions produced more noise with their fans and also used more power. So I decided on the Hydra's for my first ever dive into the LED world.

Disasater999- beautiful reef! Would you mind sharing your settings/program that you are using in the Syna-G app? Using an Ethereal over a 24" cube SPS tank and am still struggling a bit to
Find the right settings. Thanks! |
