The condensate gathers on that and drips to the bottom sometimes caught in a mild steel pan or plastic pan and often drained through a garden hose or PVC pipe. |

i've been using dehumidifier 'condensate' for years. our tap water is very hard on rodi systems, i opted for the dehumidfier water. i used to drip it through a di resin, but that was just another pita. then i just started using it straight. mind you i only have a four gallon reef vase. i do daily top ups with it with an all purpose trace element liquid. i also use it for mixing for my phyto.
the water reservoir can get mucky after a while and needs to be rinsed out. you can pour the water over a filter to remove any floaty bits if you like. i say use it. |
