Mine has been VERY thoroughly abused... It once served as my return pump in the sump, then I upgraded to the Reef Octopus, and it became a utility pump for water changes. And just when I thought it bit the dust, I realized it was plugged into a protected wall socket. Those pumps are almost indestructible.

True for my external AC pumps as well. Other than the fan noise and motor hum, they're completely silent.

its a personal choice.

dc pumps are more energy efficient, and runs cooler and has electronic speed control.
dc pumps are really ac pumps (works on same principle as ac motor), except the driving current is controlled electronically and is highly optimized via a closed loop circuit. I have no complaints with jebao products and would continue to buy/use them.

Of course it is! Just seems to me that those of us with some experience ought to share so that those with no experience can make an informed personal choice.

From my experience, Jebaos work just fine.

OP, make your own decision and not let others decide for you. There will always be haters.

Had my dc6000 for two years cleaned it once never gave me a problem and it was silent. Now have a dcs12000 for the last 6 months zero issues and running a big manifold.

Every time there is a thread about a Jebao product, it turns into a... "debacle". Lmao!

That's a really good point, and I completely agree. I was recently thinking about my early days in this hobby (circa 1988) and the almost complete lack of equipment choices back then. Comparatively speaking, today is a reef tank equipment palooza (or is it a fest).

Calling people 'haters' or 'fanboys' is just a pet peeve of mine as I find it intellectually lazy. But hey, that's just me and no intent to offend.

I guess what gets my knickers in a twist is when someone has an unreasonably defensive reaction to someone else having a different reasonable opinion - and no, I am not accusing anyone here in this thread of doing that...

...I think...

Humans are funny. I think a lot of what we see is people feeling the need to justify their inexpensive purchase to those who shame them (wether they intend to shame or not). On the other side, those that have the "in and expensive" pump really dont want to here anything about how great your pump is for a fraction of the price they paid for theirs.

IMHO, that pretty much covers the issue.

Although zooman's point about alternative points of view and unreasonable defence of the other point of view is valid. See zooman, you had an affect on me, I was too quick to defend and not allow the other point of view (in another thread).

Is this there usual business practice.. they also seem to not have a phone number. If anyone has a number for them please send it to me .

Thank you

I was looking forward to the pump but i will NOT Accept delivery from over seas due to warranty return shipping issues not to mention i NEED it before the end of next month.. Bad First impression..

Human nature Ron, and most of us have been guilty of it one time or another, including me...

Funny, I ordered a Crossflow and 2 Jebao wavemakers and they shipped from Hong Kong and I got them by DHL in just 5 days! And if I remember right, shipping cost was under $5!

As long i do not have to send back to China my expense if there is a issue i guess it will be ok.

Still concerned thou. will see if they reply back to me.. i want the new cross flow if they have the issues fixed.. well i need two of them . i sent two back to amazon for red light issues ..

thanks again
