Wow!!!
You guys are making me jealous. A mostly mushroom tank is what I am ultimately aiming for, but it was hard to keep mushrooms under my power T5's. Luckily I switched over to MH now.

Just wondering is anyone out there using only T5's to keep mushrooms happy?

I have 4 54W T5 HO and the shrooms seem fine - see pics above.

How close are your lights to tank surface? What type of reflectors & what bulb brand?

Were you having trouble with any particular mushrooms?

The mushrooms that I had trouble with I no longer have trouble with my new MH system.

I have a 72 bowfront AGA. My lights are about 5" from the glass tops, then 2" to the water surface and my tank sand bottom is about 19" below the water surface. I have ice cap reflectors with Tek lighting from reef geek with (front to back) blue +, ultra blue, GE 6500K daylight, blue +. I really have not had any trouble with shrooms or yumas.

I bought a new colony from Aquadok last week and I'm very impressed and very happy with his colony. He was a great person to work with and I recieved them exactly when I was told I would, plus he threw in a couple of real treasures when they grow up.

Justin, is that a majano anenome in with the shrooms. I had two with mine and the shrooms did not like it.

I got rid of mine. I do not have any anemones in my tank. They came in on some rock. Some people keep them. There is even a guy who sell them on ebay!

Ya ive seen talk about that very subject on the threads, but no.Its actually an old photo of a bleached RBTA shhhh!Dont tell anyone It since has gotten its browny green back and is starting to form its bubbles.Long story short, Ive now retro'd my old T5 setup with individual reflectors which before it was basically a HO PC by poor design. And have 3 more bulbs that need upgrading(of 6 total 3 of which are new 10K's) and will prolly go with GE's 6500k and ATI's blue+ and true actinic 03, I figure by then , everything will just be bubbly and smashing but ya now that the RBTA is coming back the shrooms dont like it See how sad that makes me heheh

Er, are we talking about the first pic or the last?If the last I just shared my dirty laundry for nothing The last pic is just a baby toadstool, surprisingly enough neither of em cared, but Id periodically have to squirt the mushroom from overshadowing the toadstool, the last pic of the blue marbled shroom he was about 4 inches before I cut em up in quarters.

Here is my mushroom dominated tank in its early stages. They have more than doubled and the sand has 10 to 20 mushrooms on it also. Will have to get a new picture when I get my new camera. (old one is broke)

Here's one I found a while back. Sorry about the large size, but that's how it's hosted.
