Sure enough within 2 min of turning it on it was overflowing AGAIN. The HAS to be a skimmer out there thats easy to set up and not such a PIA. Im REALLY getting mad now.

I'm partially stumped here. I run mine without the riser extension, with the outputs choked back half way, and it runs a little on the wet side, but not bad. That being said, I bought mine used, so I never had to deal with the break-in period. Mine doesn't have the two silly looking boxes that come off the drain tubes. Try taking those off, and see if it helps any. Maybe theyre restricting it from draining. Mine has 2 loose pvc elbows (1/2" to 3/4" I think) |

Do me a favor, and take a pic of the venturi on it, I want to see if they changed it since I got mine. Mine seems pretty restrictive.
HOLD ON, I'm retarded. I run my in my sump, (not that it makes a huge difference). BUUUTTT... I tried running it HOB for a bit, and had the same issue, now that I think about it. IIRC I sat it on a bucket that raised it up about 2-3" higher than it was, and it worked much more sensibly. The way mine works now, the water level it is in, is about 1-2" below the bottom of that grey tube that acts as the feed.

Unfortunatly I can't really raise it up much with the way my set-up is im gonna try cutting the tubing connecting the pump to the skimmer shorter, it says in the manual if the pump is too deep it can cause overskimmimg

Sorry their a little blurry but here is a pic the pump, also that little black plastic piece fits into the intake of the pump, it doesn't clikc in or anythign it is loose, should I put that in there to mabye restrict the flow a little. The first pic is without the plastic piece and the second is with it.
![]() Heres with the attachment, but im not sure if this is what it is susposed to be for, since it doesn't fit tightly, just kinda slips in there ![]() |

So here is the pump with the adapter, the only problem is I can't fit the cover back on the oump with the adapter on. Is there something im missing here? I don't want my fish to get sucked into the pump. It seem to be that if I need the adapter to make the skimmer work right, then the cover should be designed to fit over the pump/adapter

Will the adapter fit facing the other way? So that the long part is inside the other part? Mine has an adapter inside the venturi piece, but it definitely doesnt stick out that far.

It worked! The piece fit the other way, It makes moe sense now, it was a tight fit like it was designed to go that way. The way I had it was all loose, and just didn't seem right.
![]() Of course I deciede to paint my background black, and the pump for my protein skimmer is BLUE, honestly who makes aquarium equipment blue? ![]() |
