I would go with a sump/refugium and get rid of the fluvals completly the more natural the better then get a bigger than necessary skimmer to cover the bio load

This is a great forum but only if you are willing to listen! People can sometimes seem harsh but from the posts I read I didn't think so. The amount of time you have a tank running doesn't mean that you're not going to make mistakes, I've had a reef tank for over 10 years and I still make newbie mistakes from time to time. When someone seems like they're being too critical it's only because we care about the corals and fish. Next time someone says something to you that makes you mad just take it with a grain of salt and you'll find that there might be some wisdom in their sarcasm!
As for your problem, your tank is over stocked, that's a fact not an opinion. The ammonia level is high probably because of fish waste and food waste. Reduce your fish load and do several water changes. Test kits are life savers, please get some. Good luck! |

not nothing has made me mad and i have listened to what people are saying, i dont knwo why you think i havnt and am mad. i have taken out some fish added filtration done 4 water changes and have seriously looked into sumps and fuges but right now i dont have the recources and money for them.
