I've done the wash, dry in sun, and rewash technique several times with great success. During the second rinse all the organics that were waterlogged are now dry and float to the surface.

IMHO the use of chemicals is overkill.

Clean Sand Update

Sand has been in the house in salt water for a day, and here are the readings

pH 8.4
NO3 - 0.0
NO2 - 0.0
NO3 - 10 (used water from tank)
Phos 0.0
Alk
Ca 350
